The Ten Commandments. Encounters 1998-2021 : Alexandre Carlos and Jacques Moisan

Eighth sequence of a satellite project in collaboration with Espace Perreault Transmissions chorégraphiques.

To encourage reflection on transmission and memory, and to honour the participation of dancers in the creative process, The Ten commandments. Encounters 1998-2021 reunites the original and current dancers, who will talk about the work, its meaning and its score.

Destruction. Thou shalt not kill. : Alexandre Carlos meets Jacques Moisan.

For this intense role, the choreographer chose two dancers who could incarnate both the strange and the destructive. It was a difficult role, particularly for Jacques Moisan, for whom the score evoked the tragedy of Polytechnique. The discussion explored how the dancers approached their roles. Excerpts of 1998 and 2021 also reveal the transformation of the play in terms of the lighting and music and the dancers’ movements.
