Le fils d’Adrien strongly believes in the importance of doing fundamental research in contemporary dance and to support emerging choreographers. The desire of actively contributing to the development of contemporary dance in Quebec City is shown within the 2016-2019 strategic planning.
With this in mind, the company is supporting two emergent artists in their creative process: Julia-Maude Cloutier is mentored to deepen her knowledge and to refine her technical abilities as a creator and as a performer, and Etienne Lambert is also supported by mentoring and is coproduced for OK. PIS APRÈS?, his fundamental research project.
Etienne’s research started at Le Cercle – Laboratoire Vivant in spring 2017 and continued at La Maison pour la danse in April 2018. The third phase of this project will be explored at La Maison pour la danse from October 1rst to 12th. His work is about the transmission of memories and what comes out of it. The stories that we tell and the stories we are told shape our bodies and the way we perceive the world.
For those who would like to see the result of his work, the studio will open its doors from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., October 12 at La Maison pour la danse. The public will be invited to participate in some of the explorations.
