Fourth sequence of a satellite project in collaboration with Espace Perreault Choreographic transmission.
To encourage reflection on transmission and memory, and to honour the participation of dancers in the creative process, The Ten Commandments. Encounters 1998-2021 reunites the original and current dancers, who will talk about the work, its meaning and its score.
Belonging. Honour thy father and thy mother : Etienne Lambert and Harold Rhéaume.
Forging connections with real life – the recent death of Etienne’s father, the pandemic – the creative process for the commandment, under the idea of belonging, is both personal journey and choreographic work. The intimacy and depth of exchanges between the artists would set the tone – Harold explains – for the entire recreation, and, Etienne says, would drive his contribution to the performance, making the solo an ode to the beauty of the transmission. An incredible account of the birth and transformation of a solo that embodies goodwill.
